I highly recommend checking out my YouTube Channel called "Rock with PJ Pat" (https://www.youtube.com/@RockwithPJPat) and click on the PODCAST tab to see the visuals of this episode. You gotta see this Jimmy Sakurai dude who plays and looks like Jimmy Page!

Every member of this band definitely did the music justice. Jason Bonham‘s in true form playing his dad‘s stuff effortlessly. The show was fun since in between a few songs, Jason told stories about his dad and his family. I really fun night to celebrate Led Zeppelin‘s music and Legacy with other appreciating fans.

The Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience is an electrifying tribute, led by drummer Jason Bonham, son of the legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. This immersive musical journey faithfully captures the spirit and energy of Led Zeppelin's iconic performances, offering fans a powerful and authentic homage to the timeless rock legends.

I'm telling you, I'm still high from that Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Experience concert that I witnessed over the weekend. And woo. It was absolutely stunning. For those of you on the fence about going to see them or not sure, this is the video for you. I'm going to recap and review my thoughts on this performance. Now I know there are dime a dozen Led Zeppelin cover bands out there around the world, but if you were to pick one cover band to see in your life, just the one time, this would be it. Jason Bonham's version of Led Zeppelin. Jason Bonham, obviously John Bonham's the drummer's son. He has a Led Zeppelin cover band of his own going around the world.

And I had the privilege to go check this out.

Okay, before I dive deeper, let me just play you the opening song. They couldn't have picked a better opening song. Check it out.

Right, well, how cool is an opening like that, right? And that set the stage for the rest of the night. People were so pumped after that song. Obviously it was an older crowd. There are many people there, I'm sure, that actually saw Jason's dad John play with the real Led Zeppelin and a lot of cheering, a lot of just celebrating their legacy and the music.

You can tell people were so happy to be there and so happy to share with each other this amazing music. And Jason Bottom was know he paused in between certain songs to just tell stories.

He told a beautiful story about his grandmother, obviously, John Bonham's mom, and giving her major props and pretty much letting us know that the reason John became such a legendary drummer was because of his grandmother

I digress. Check it out.

Right, guarantee you won't be disappointed with the set list. Obviously, they could pretty much pick any Led Zeppelin song and it would be amazing. But a couple of songs that they played, I won't give you the whole set list. Want to leave a little bit of mystery for some of you who want to check out the show.

But they played good times, bad times, ramble on, whole lot of love. They played when the levy breaks. Right. And obviously they played the song that, the one song that everyone expects them to play.

What's cool about stairway is that they didn't save it to the very end. They actually closed the show, quote unquote, before the encore with that song. And so there was a mystery of what other songs they'll play the encore. Funny thing is that when they ended stairway, John Bonham said that typically they would go back and wait for us to clap for five minutes and then come back out. But essentially they're really old, so they're not going to do that if we don't mind. And they're just going to play right straight into the encore.

So they did, and it was phenomenal.

I knew how awesome jason bottom would be. He pretty much is effortless when he plays. If you see him. I can't believe this guy's probably close to 60 right now

The real standout of the show was the guitar player. All right? He was this japanese dude. His name is Jimmy something. His last name I can't recall, but he looks like Jimmy Page, obviously. He dresses like him, but his physique. Tall, slanky. He's japanese. So I'm sure he gets a perm every two weeks just to have his hair look like Jimmy Page.

But really he was absolutely channeling Jimmy Page. It was incredible. His guitar playing was off the charts incredible. I guess one can assume based on Jimmy Page's age, he probably plays better than Jimmy Page at this point. Seriously, he was just phenomenal. Don't take it from me, take it from this clip,

Right? Incredible. This guy had Jimmy Page's mannerisms. I mean, pointing to the crowd and just the moves on stage was pretty much a japanese version of Jimmy Page. Here's another example. I mean, we couldn't get enough of this.

Just his sound was amazing. He played like Jimmy Page. I mean, I can't rave enough about this guy. He has his own cover band and just comes out to play with Jason Bonham whenever he's required. But man, that guy was just. It was such a joy to see and hear this. Know, when he plugged in his Les Paul and just played like Page, it was really a feast for the.

Now I don't know if Jason Bottom says this in every single show, but he did really seem genuinely surprised and appreciative of how many people showed up to his like he really did. He said know it wasn't expected. Had he known that this many people will come see him, he would have come much earlier to Canada. Before they played when the levy breaks. For all you deros out there who are not sure or heard the rumors, Jason Bonham did confirm that how they got that epic, gigantic drum sound was the fact that they recorded the drums under a huge stairwell. So that is true, folks.

If you do have a chance to go see these guys, definitely go. I highly recommend it. You know, they're playing these small venues. They played here in Toronto. It was like a 5000 capacity venue, which is an ideal place to see any band, actually. Sound system was great. It was held at the Fallsview Casino Venue was spectacular. I mean, we couldn't really ask for a better night, really. So do yourself a favour, go crank out this legendary band. One louder. Hope you enjoyed this review. Hopefully it gave you something to think about

So I'm going to leave you with the last song they played of the night, and thankfully they did because it's my all time favourite Led Zeppelin song. Enjoy.
